Rope Rescue: Operational
This 40-hour comprehensive training course meeting the requirements of NFPA 1670, Chapter 4. The course is designed for the emergency responder who may be called upon to locate, gain access to, stabilize and remove patients in a high angle environment. Students will receive instruction in:
- The use and maintenance of rope rescue equipment and rope rescue systems
- Selection, construction and use of ropebased mechanical advantage systems
- Construction and use of multi-point anchor systems
- Selection, construction and use of appropriate belay systems
- Selection, construction and use of lowering systems
- Patient packaging techniques for safe transfer
Students will participate in rope rescue operations based on real world scenarios. They will demonstrate competency individually and as members of a response team.
Bring
Hard hat, gloves, eye protection, and nonskid shoes with safety toe boxes.

We offer flexible schedules to fit your needs: either 4 – 10 hour days or 5 – 8 hour days

Rope Rescue: Technician
This 40-hour course in advanced rope rescue systems satisfies the requirements of NFPA 1670 4-4 Rope Rescue Technician. At the conclusion of the course each student shall demonstrate the proper use of standard rope rescue techniques within the high-angle/low-angle environment, including:
- Constructing single-and-multiple-point anchor systems
- Deploying a fixed rope system, incorporating proper belay devices
- Descending a fixed rope system for purposes of victim rescue
- Moving a victim in a high-angle or vertical environment, utilizing victim transfer devices and specialized equipment necessary for the environment
- Demonstrating proper procedure for knot passing through a rope system
- Operation of both compound and simple rope mechanical advantage systems
- Construction of a highline (tensioned) system
- Operation of a high-line system
- Ascending a fixed rope
